Welcome

Hello and welcome to the December newsletter. We want to wish all of our members a very merry Christmas and a healthy and happy new year for 2022.
Next year is set to be a very exciting time for your club with Portsmouth Football Club which staff are excited for and look forward to this journey with you.
The bistro has its seasonal drinks menu available until the end of this month so please take a moment with friends to enjoy time in the club.

Christmas time means we have reduced opening hours, please find details of this below and they will also be available in club.

Club Events

The annual curry and quiz is set to take place on Saturday 11th December. The event sold out a few weeks ago but there is also a charity raffle with a variety of prizes such as signed Portsmouth Football Club memorabilia, Starbucks gift pack and many, many more. If you aren’t attending, tickets can be bought at reception in advance and winners will be notified after the draw has been made.

Swimming Lessons

We just want to remind everyone the swim school runs for 50 weeks of the year with the last lessons taking place on Saturday 18th December and returning on Monday 3rd January. Should you have children enrolled in the course please bear this in mind but for all members this gives more quiet time over those two weeks to use the pool as well.

Club Improvements

We have recently had more works done on the building behind the scenes such as a whole new panic alarm system which was recently installed throughout the building at the end of November. This has included a whole new alarm panel fitted by reception and panic buttons in areas such as the disabled changing rooms and poolside.

There have been requests from some members to look at improving the lighting in the car park now winter is here, so we are due to have some more works done in that area very shortly. Also as some may be aware, there had been an issue where sometimes in the mornings, the water wasn’t always heating for the showers. We have recently had a whole new panel brought in and installed in the boiler room now which gives the club better control but also has the capability for the installers to access this off site too, and they get flagged should the temperature drop to resolve any issues before staff in the club are even aware.

We are fully aware we have members waiting for an update on the spa and Portsmouth Football Club will be sending separate communication with this and other works  to you all directly in the next few days, so keep an eye on your inbox for this.

Member Of The Month

Congratulations to our member of the month for November, David Macdonald. David is always a pleasure when he attends the club and staff always looks forward to him attending. He is here on multiple days each week and as member of the month, David gets next month (January) for free!

Gym Challenges

In January we are planning to launch some ‘Gym Floor Challenges’ with members of the gym team setting a specific fitness challenge and time they set to beat. There will be a leader board by the gym desk as well so if you want to take part next month, please submit your successes if you want them to be recorded. Please ask a member of the gym team or reception for more information

Challenges will be:-

                        Darin   - 1000 feet versa climber

                        Karl      - Wall sit challenge

                        Dan      - Plank challenge

                        Tony    - 5km Sparcs challenge
