Manager’s Welcome

Welcome to Spring! Hopefully the arrival of a brand new season will see the back of this less than ideal weather we have been having, and bring a bit more sunshine to our days!

I hope everyone is getting on well with any goals they may have set at the beginning of the year. If you need a little motivation, then why not book in a refresher session with one of our fabulous team? Our stayfit. sessions are designed to ensure you are on track to achieve your goals, and we will set you a program to help you along the way. Either see one of the team on the gym floor, or pass by Reception on your way out.

As I am sure you are aware, we moved over to a different app a few weeks ago. This new app has many, many more benefits for our members, including full connectivity with our state of the art gym kit by Matrix, as well as challenges and deals for all! If you haven’t already, download it and log in to see what new features there are to enhance your workouts!

If you are a regular visitor to our classes, you will undoubtedly have seen some of our team members (or indeed myself!) outside the studios taking registers. This has come on the back of our extremely popular classes being heavily oversubscribed, and members then not attending, and not cancelling their spots. Taking a register has enabled us to manage this far more closely, and the good news is we have seen a reduction already in the number of no-shows to classes, so for the time being, we will continue to do this. Please do continue to let us know with as much notice as possible if you are unable to get to a class – this will allow our team to fill up the spot, and make sure somebody else can attend.

On the subject of classes, may I take this opportunity to remind everyone of a little bit of class etiquette, which will ensure a more comfortable experience for everybody:

Please do not bring mobile phones in the studios, particularly Mind & Body
Please do not wear shoes in the Mind & Body studio – practise in there is often barefoot, so we need it kept as clean as possible
Please be on time for your class. We appreciate there can be delays, however if you miss the warm up to a class, you are far more susceptible to injury, and coming in to a class late may disrupt others already there.

Thank you to everyone for your patience whilst we get a handle on the issues we have experienced with class booking and attendance. As you can see, we are working as hard as we can to make the experience as seamless as possible for all.

In March we will be introducing a new system that will automatically delete overlapping class bookings in order to ensure maximum class availability for members.  This means that if you book a class and the class time overlaps another booking you have the overlapping class will automatically be deleted. 

This will prevent members being unable to book into classes because others have made multiple class booking for the same time.

We hope that this enhancement to class bookings will improve your booking experience.

With regards to booking experience we apologise for the issues being experienced at the 9pm booking release time for 8 days in advance booking.  The App is currently performing very slowly at peak demand of 21:00 to 21:03.  Please be assured that we are working tirelessly with our suppliers to resolve this situation and that we understand your frustrations and thank you for your continued patience.

You have access to a huge library of exercises to create and track your own workouts.  Log your workouts manually or use xCapture and these will automatically be added to your workout history.

Club News

Coronavirus
At the time of writing, advice from the NHS and PHE is that most people can continue to go to work, school and other public places and only need to stay away from public places (self-isolate) if advised to by the 111 online coronavirus service or a medical professional.

We have been and will continue to follow the advice of Public Health England (PHE) to help prevent the risk of spreading the virus. On a precautionary basis we have provided sanitiser around the club along with additional towels and wipes for members to clean any equipment after use. We have also requested that all Roko employees and freelance instructors declare any travel they may have had, or are planning, to affected areas so we can advise them on steps we may require them to take such as self-isolation.

We would ask that if you are feeling unwell or meet any of the criteria set out in the government communication then you do not attend the club and that you contact 111 for further advice.

Please continue to adopt thorough hygiene practices whilst at the club. Wipe all equipment after use, wash your hands thoroughly with soap before and after using the gym or use the sanitiser provided, catch and bin coughs and sneezes in a tissue.
