Changes From July 19th

13th July 2021 | Chiswick | Gillingham | Nottingham | Portsmouth | York

The Government has now confirmed that from Monday 19th July, all legal restrictions on how we are permitted to operate will be removed and as a consequence, there will be some changes at your Roko Club.

As before, please do not attend the club if you have any of the following symptoms:
 • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
 • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
 • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Your safety and comfort remains of the utmost importance to us:
 • We will continue to operate our air handling systems on full fresh air circulation to maintain your comfort and safety.
 • Our heightened cleaning standards will be kept in place and the cleaning stations will stay available for you to use.
 • Use the sanitiser provided, or the many wash basins in club, to clean your hands frequently.
 • Signage will encourage the wearing of masks when moving around the club and not exercising but this is optional in line with Government policy and we do not have unventilated and crowded environments in any case.
 • At all times, please respect the personal space of other club users. We are very fortunate to have large clubs with lots of space so you can continue to exercise in comfort.

Group exercise:
 •
All class capacities will be increased to allow more members to attend with suitable space between everyone.
 • We will keep the 15 minute gaps between classes to continue the clean downs and avoid groups gathering around the studios.
 • Livestream classes will stop at the end of July although we will be looking at our technology solutions to potentially bring these back later in the year as a supplementary offer to the live programme.

Swimming and lessons:
 •
Pool lanes will no longer be bookable in advance and we will return to the normal arrive and swim service. While pool lane booking enabled us to control capacity it did so at a cost to the availability of swim time for all users and we lost around 50% of our available swim time. If you would like to swim at a quieter time please ask the club management team who will be able to advise when it is best to come.
 • Our swim lesson capacity will be increased to its previous normal level.
 • Family swim times will be fully reinstated at key times of the day so you can once again enjoy the pool as a family without having to book in advance.
 • We will be providing a new pool schedule so you have visibility of what you can do and when in this area of the club.

Spa, sauna and steam room:
 •
The normal capacity limit will be reinstated in these areas and advance booking will not be required.

Changing rooms:
 •
All lockers, showers and toilets will be returned to normal use and we will be continuing to monitor their use to ensure cleaning standards are kept high, especially during busier periods.

Thank you for all your continued support and for coping with the changes that have had to be made to our operations since March 2020. Going back to how the club runs normally will no doubt be challenging for some members and we will help you in any way we can as we transition through this next stage.

Yours in health and fitness

The Roko Management Team
