Manager’s Welcome

As we reflect on the first few months of 2020 it feels like it’s gone by in a blur. We really hope you are still committed to your goals. At this point in the year it's always positive to look at mixing up the training plan and introduce a new discipline, whether that be a new class like Pilates or HiiT or functional movement training. So if this is something you'd like to do then please do not wait; book in for a consultation with one of the team and get re-focused.  

HYGIENE / COVID 19
As we learn more and understand the changes that will affect us as a business and as a society, we have committed to a few things to install confidence in your usage of the club.

We have set up some simple sanitary stations in the club; at reception when you enter, at the entrance to the gym floor and all the exercise studios, alongside our usual provision of hygienic wipes and hand sanitiser. 

We have set up a deep clean process alongside the daily and weekly frequencies of gym kit cleaning.

We have spoken to all Group Exercise Instructors to communicate in each class best practice for hygiene and ensure that each participant thoroughly wipes and cleans their equipment and mats before and after class.

We understand this is a changing and challenging times for all of us. We would like all of our members to take a positive approach to simple hygiene practices within the club and whilst training. We thank you in advance for your support and we hope everyone stays safe.

If you are not already aware we have launched our New App and we have now turned off the old App. 

In March we will be introducing a new system that will automatically delete overlapping class bookings in order to ensure maximum class availability for members.  This means that if you book a class and the class time overlaps another booking you have the overlapping class will automatically be deleted. 

This will prevent members being unable to book into classes because others have made multiple class booking for the same time.

We hope that this enhancement to class bookings will improve your booking experience.

With regards to booking experience we apologise for the issues being experienced at the 9pm booking release time for 8 days in advance booking.  The App is currently performing very slowly at peak demand of 21:00 to 21:03.  Please be assured that we are working tirelessly with our suppliers to resolve this situation and that we understand your frustrations and thank you for your continued patience.

YOUR WORKOUTS
You have access to a huge library of exercises to create and track your own workouts.  Log your workouts manually or use xCapture and these will automatically be added to your workout history.

CONNECTED APPS
Connect all your Fitness Apps so that all your fitness training information is pulled together and is automatically added to your workout history in the Your Workouts tile.

GOAL CENTRE
Take your training to the next level by setting personal goals.

Classes
Due to the popularity of our classes we would like to reiterate that if you are unable to attend for any reason please cancel your booking through the App.  

Small Group Training
We have had great fun and success with our gym floor classes run by our Personal Trainer Anthony Pink.

To this end we would like to announce that very shortly we will be introducing small group training. If a structured dedicated 12 week program is something that you have desired or thought about and the cost has always outweighed the benefit in your opinion, then Small Group Training might just be the thing for you. .

We are currently working on the programming around this and will launch later this month or early April. To register your interest please speak to one of the team.

Club News

Coronavirus
At the time of writing, advice from the NHS and PHE is that most people can continue to go to work, school and other public places and only need to stay away from public places (self-isolate) if advised to by the 111 online coronavirus service or a medical professional.

We have been and will continue to follow the advice of Public Health England (PHE) to help prevent the risk of spreading the virus. On a precautionary basis we have provided sanitiser around the club along with additional towels and wipes for members to clean any equipment after use. We have also requested that all Roko employees and freelance instructors declare any travel they may have had, or are planning, to affected areas so we can advise them on steps we may require them to take such as self-isolation.

We would ask that if you are feeling unwell or meet any of the criteria set out in the government communication then you do not attend the club and that you contact 111 for further advice.

Please continue to adopt thorough hygiene practices whilst at the club. Wipe all equipment after use, wash your hands thoroughly with soap before and after using the gym or use the sanitiser provided, catch and bin coughs and sneezes in a tissue.

Charity
As some of you may be aware, we recently had some fundraising completed around the club to raise money for the charity Tonic (who specialise in mental health services). Myself and my colleagues felt passionately around this subject and I personally would like to thank all staff and members who participated and contributed to the events around the club. Having completed a few myself – I must say how enjoyable it was and brilliant to see the interactions we all had.

Personal thanks to staff that created and delivered our program of events. Thanks team.

Swimming Lessons

OUR NEW 10 WEEK TERM :- Starts week commencing  MARCH 16TH

We currently have availability in many of our current programs.

Parent + Toddler; Beginner 1; Beginner 2; Improver 1; Improver 2; Advanced.

If you are on the current program and have not yet renewed please you must renew before Monday 16th March as we will be moving our waiting list onto this and you may lose your place if you remain unpaid.
