Welcome to your July newsletter, read on to find out about everything going on in club this month.  We’ve got you some fantastic offers from our premier partners as well as a great offer for members who are looking to have a party.

It’s now officially summer and we’re doing our best to help you get beach body ready for your holidays and find a new kind of fit. Come and try a new class, there’s something for everyone! Pilates, Crew, Tri, Les Mills, to name just a few.  And top it all off in the club lounge with some healthy treats. If it's motivation that you’re lacking, remember our touchbase programme, book a motivational session with one of our trainers to get you back on track.

With summer, comes school holidays, so there’s no better time to add your kids onto your membership so they can take advantage of our great kids activities programme.

If you’re one of the lucky ones heading off to find some sun, we want to see your dedication to training – let’s see your holiday workout photos on our Facebook page! I’m thinking; pull-ups from palm trees, burpees on the beach… or if that seems a bit too much like hard work, bicep curling a cocktail to your mouth at the bar!

We’re pleased to let you know that the trial class of Pilates we have been running through June will continue. We’re also delighted to welcome Debbie to our team of holistic instructors, who joins us on a Tuesday morning at 10.45 for Yoga. Our fitness manager and studio coordinator are discussing new changes and additions we could make moving forward to the timetable so do bear with us.

For those of you who prefer a smaller group to exercise with why not try Crew or Tri Club?
Our Crew classes run on a Tuesday & Thursday evening. 
If you fancy yourself as a bit of a rower but without taking to the open water then this session could be for you!
Anyone can do a Crew class and it’s a great way of getting a cardiovascular workout without the high levels of impact incurred by running. If you’re looking to improve your fitness without pounding your joints then this is the session for you.   For all you runners and would be athletes out there it’s great for keeping up you fitness levels when injuries stop you from taking part in your sport.

A Crew class will enable you to work the WHOLE body, yes, not just your upper body!  Rowing works all your major muscle groups of the body: Legs, Butt, Back, Core, Shoulders and arms.

If you’re lacking the motivation to get on a rower then our Crew class instructors are there to help! They will give you expert coaching and motivation to get you through! And who knows we may even see you on the open water yet!!

Crew Classes:
Tuesday 18.15-19.00 with James
Thursday 18.45 – 19.00 with Alex
Tri Club Swim Sessions…Our sessions aren’t just aimed at the budding triathlete, but also for those of you that just want a different type of cardiovascular workout and at the same time a chance to improve on your swimming technique.

Pencil in our Tri Club session on a Thursday at 7.30pm.  Alex our swim coach (who is a former triathlon champion) will help you to improve on your strokes for your swim, improve your breathing techniques and encourage you to increase your speed.  To make you an all-round better swimmer!

Chris’ past experience has seen him work as Head of Medicine and Sports Science for Scunthorope United FC, Peterborough United FC, Hull City AFC, and as Head Physiotherapist at Queens Park Rangers FC, Barnsley FC and physio to the academy at Nottingham Forest FC. Chris has also worked for England Athletics covering both national and international competitions.

Have you got an event coming up and looking for the perfect venue? Our function room is available for hire! Even if you don’t have any special events coming up, our prices are a reason to celebrate… members, book a party this month and get free room hire!!  Even if you’re not a member our prices are pretty hard to beat!

Now that we are officially into summer and the weather is set to get warmer, have you considered trying one of our tasty fruit smoothies?  Packed full of tasty fresh fruit they are the perfect drink to refresh you on a hot summers day, and because they are just made of fresh fruit/juice, they’re good for you too!   Or if you are looking for bit of a naughty treat, why not pick up one of the ice cream shakes…delicious!

For those of you who prefer a morning workout, we will be introducing Protein Porridge to our menu.  Porridge is always a good, healthy, energy filled start to the day, so with an added hit of protein it can also help with your muscles recovery from the morning gym session.  Obviously, protein isn’t for everyone, so if you would rather, you can swap the protein for some sliced fresh fruit.

Swimming News

We would like to thank you once again for what has been a slightly rocky time for our swim programme. Hopefully you came along to meet Jennie, our new swim programme manager, in June. If not, you will meet her soon as her official start date was Monday 4th July. In the meantime, Jennie has been taking queries and is busy getting the programme ready for re-enrolment for the next term of lessons.  Letters for re-enrolling your children began to be issued on 4th July and you will have until 17th July to accept and pay for your places. After this time unfortunately we cannot guarantee your space as we will be opening waiting lists up. New term begins on 1st August and Jennie is looking forward to meeting you all properly.
