Manager’s Welcome

January is over and as your New Year's resolutions begin to fade try and remember the feelings that made you think of them in the first place. The sense that you could make a new start; that you could change; that your health and fitness could be better! Don't allow the day-to-day drag stop you achieving the changes that you wanted five weeks ago.

Obviously these are our busier months so if the area of the club you would normally use is busy then why not try something different, add a swim, gym workout or different class to your work out for the day. You never know you might discover something new you enjoy. It has been twenty three years since I last swam front crawl but sure enough, there I was, practicing in our pool last week. Our fitness, studio and swimming instructors are perfectly placed to give you advice on trying new things.

I also want to say a big thank you to those who came to our ten year birthday party. The evening was a great success and a lot of fun. I can't wait to see the photos!

Fitness News

FitMiss Course Starts February

Welcome to Fitmiss, a course new to Roko this year to help people stay motivated and keep on track with their goals following the heavy Christmas period.  This programme is designed to start at ground zero .We teach  beginners and intermediates not only on a more effective way to exercise but we will give you the inside knowledge of a qualified personal trainer. Roko is offering you the fundamentals for an introductory price of just £36.

The course is broken down into six weeks with one session per week following a mixture of both practical sessions and interactive workshops. The course spaces are limited so that each person can get enough one to one attention and advice; please be aware that this a beginners/intermediates course so if you already know a lot about weight training, what supersets and pyramid sets are and practice a lot of Olympic style lifts this course may not be for you and you may wish to seek a higher level of training and advice from one our personal trainers.

This programme is simplified so that the training and tuition is easy to understand. Our goal is to not make everyone a personal trainer but to make sure you come away with the right knowledge to create your own programmes and can spot the flaws in your current gym sessions. We want you to move better, look better and feel better. With all that said, let’s look at the content of the course:

Session one: Where am I going wrong?
Session two: Fat Loss
Session Three: Muscle Tone
Session Four: Nutrition
Session 5: Strength and Endurance
Session 6 : Putting it all together

Each session will commence on a Monday at 6pm and finish at 7pm in Studio 2 . Please be aware that some sessions may run over by 10-20 minutes depending on the content of each session.  As the sessions are designed to spend more one on one time with each participant a maximum of 12 people may be allocated to one class at a time. The first session will start on the 15th February. Please pay £36 at reception to book your place. A course pack will be given to each individual on arrival of the first session.

Physiotherapy at Roko
Our resident physiotherapists, Physiotherapy2fit, have moved upstairs into a new treatment room just off the gym. They are expanding their coverage at the club, with physiotherapy, aqua-therapy and pilates across a number of days. Club News

Please note that we are notifying members who are parking inappropriately by putting a bright orange sticker on the driver side window. Parking along the main artery of the carpark makes getting in and out a real problem. Please stop doing it! Repeat offenders will have their number plates taken and be politely asked to not park at the club any more.
