Chiswick Newsletter September 2019

11th September 2019 | Chiswick

Manager’s Welcome

I hope everybody had a wonderful summer and enjoyed some of the glorious sunshine. A very warm welcome back to everyone who took a break from the club over the summer.

It’s business as usual here at Roko. Our new timetable launched on Monday 2nd; we listened to your feedback and have introduced some brand new classes to our offering – see further details in this newsletter! I hope you enjoy the classes – please do let me know how you get on.

Thank you for your patience whilst we carried out the work on the pool. All tiles have now been replaced in the pool, spa and steam room – I appreciate this was a long time coming, however we did need to wait until the club was at its quietest! Thank you once again for your understanding.

We have kept our running club going each week throughout the holidays, with some regular faces returning each time! The shorter days will mean that soon we will change the route; however we will still have a 5k and 10k option. Even if you have never run that distance before, come along and try – nobody gets left behind. Who knows, you might even set yourself a brand new PB and achieve something you never thought possible!

Congratulations to all our members who have taken part in races or competitions over the last month or so. In particular Katie with her superb performance at the World Triathlon Finals and Lawrence with a fabulous time at the Maidenhead half marathon! Well done both of you!

We have plenty of new faces around the club as we expand our team, so do look out for some introductions and interesting facts in the next couple of newsletters!

Please note, we will be changing our car park barrier codes in order to prevent non-members using our car park during peak times. The exit code is now 0852 from Monday 9th September and the entrance code will be 0919 from Tuesday 1st October 2019.

Thank you also for all the feedback coming through on our online member survey. Don’t worry if you haven’t had yours yet – a specific number are sent at a time until they have reached everybody. If you do have any comments or suggestions in the meantime, there is no need to wait for the survey! I am usually in and around the club so do feel free to stop me for a chat, or pop me an email at: kmeagher@chiswickbridge.roko.co.uk

I look forward to seeing many of you back in club again soon.

Kind regards,

Kati Meagher & Your Roko Team

Sweatember

Are you sweating?  There certainly has been times this summer when the temperature has made us all sweat!  But what about when we exercise? Are you a ‘go through the motions’ sort of person or an ‘all out sweat or nothing’ sort of person?

With this in mind we are throwing down the gauntlet and asking you to sweat through September! All for a good cause of course!

We would like to encourage you to do some exercise that makes you sweat every day for 30 days and it’s all for Cancer Research UK.

We have such a wide range of classes both in the studio and on the gym floor where you can really challenge yourself.  Don’t think that you can’t sweat in pilates, yoga or aqua.  If you put the right sort of effort in then YES you can.

Watch out for gym challenges to keep you motivated or if you prefer come and book your stayfit. for your Sweatember Challenge.

Let’s help give Cancer the Boot! Sign up at:: https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/get-involved/find-an-event/charity-challenges/sweatember

Come and join us for this charity event. Whatever your reasons for working out, be it for lifting your mood, giving you focus, goal specific we look forward to seeing you in club through September.

New Member Surveys – Please Help Us Get Even Better!
We have introduced new member surveys which are sent to you by email at regular intervals and, as valued members, we would love you to help us develop your club by giving insight through these new surveys.

They ask you to give your Roko a score and then confirm the main reasons for giving this score. Your feedback will help us to learn and to develop your club; we can report on it and detect themes making improvements to areas of the club it relates to.  Thank you in advance for helping us to improve – we really appreciate it.

New Barrier Codes
If you missed it above, we will be changing our car park barrier codes in order to prevent non-members using our car park during peak times.
September: The exit code is now 0852 from Monday 9th September
October: the entrance code will be 0919 from Tuesday 1st October 2019.
