Chiswick Newsletter October 2020

1st October 2020 | Chiswick

Manager’s Welcome

Welcome to your October newsletter. I do hope that everybody is staying safe and well.

We are continuing to welcome more and more members back to the club each week, which is very encouraging! It is great to see so many members booking the pool, and to see many classes so well attended. We have taken many measures to ensure our members, team members and instructors remain safe within the club, and once again, I would like to extend my thanks to all members who have been so understanding with our new procedures.

You will have seen that we are now asking members to wear a face covering whilst in the common areas of the club, but not for exercise. Groups of 6 maximum are welcome to use the club lounge, however we still request that social distancing is respected. We have hand sanitiser throughout the club, so please do continue to use this, and the toilets are fully open so you may wash your hands if you prefer.

As we start to welcome more members each day, we are naturally seeing a greater demand for classes. As you know, we have reduced capacities in the studios to ensure social distancing guidelines are respected, so now more than ever it is vital that if you are unable to attend a booked class, it is cancelled at the earliest opportunity. We are unfortunately seeing many classes being fully booked, only to then have space due to spots not being cancelled. Please remember that we have fewer spaces in each class, and therefore not cancelling denies another member the space.

We have added many new classes to our timetable since reopening, and September has seen the return of many of our regular instructors. We will soon start to expand our livestream option, and include high energy classes too. Please look out for these classes on the app, and do let us know what you think!

If you were not already aware, we have reintroduced family swim on specific days of the week. Booking is currently only via our Reception team, so please do let us know if you would like to reserve a space.

Our locker rooms are still generally out of use – they can be used by swimmers if necessary to shower and change after a swim, however we will continue to have limited locker availability, so if you can, please avoid these areas and continue to use the stations on poolside. Unless it is an emergency, please do not use lockers if you are attending a class or using the gym floor – please try not to bring valuables or large bags with you.

Thank you once again for your understanding. It is wonderful to see so many people enjoying the club again, and long may this continue!

With kind regards,

Kati Meagher & your Roko Chiswick Team
