Chiswick Newsletter July 2021

Manager’s Welcome

Welcome back (again!) We have been open for 3 months already and it has been an absolute pleasure to welcome everybody back again, and see so many of you back using the club.

It has been great to see so many members booking the pool, and to see many classes so well attended, now that we are able to run them again. We have taken many measures to ensure our members, team members and instructors remain safe within the club, and once again, I would like to extend my thanks to all members who have been so understanding with our Covid procedures. Keeping everybody safe is our number one priority and we are grateful for everybody’s cooperation with respecting social distancing, continuing to wear masks around the club, and sanitising equipment before and after use.

If you haven’t managed to visit us since we re-opened, there is no better time! We are here to help, and would love to see you back once more. If you haven’t been for a while, why not book in an induction with one of our fitness coaches, who can design a complementary 4-6 week programme to suit your goals. Our personal trainers are available for 1-2-1 sessions on a more frequent basis to keep you on track.

If you have been visiting since 12th April, well done! It’s great to see so many familiar faces. After training hard, why not enjoy a cold, refreshing juice from our café after your work out and feel the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Our lounge area has been open to sit, eat and drink since the 17th May and is following government guidelines.

Some of you may have noticed that we have some new faces on the fitness team! They are:

 • Leonie is a cheerleading coach and loves to do conditioning workouts. Her favourite exercise is the battle ropes.
 • Hannah is a semi-professional football player and enjoys strength training. Her favourite exercise is the deadlift.

Leonie and Hannah have been working the gym floor for a few weeks and we hope you are enjoying their classes! If you are looking for a training refresh, do book in an induction with either of them at reception!

Starting 28th June we have added some early bird circuit classes throughout the week which will last 40 minutes. Gym floor classes have a maximum of 6 people, so if you are looking for a smaller group exercise class, this is for you!

Until the 19th of July we will continue to operate the club as close to normal as possible. Please click here for our announcement about the changes from July 19th.

As always, thank you once again for your loyalty to the club. We very much look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Notification Of A Change In Membership Terms

Control and ownership of Roko Portsmouth has now been transferred to Portsmouth Community Football Club (PCFC) and your membership will no longer entitle you to access and use that club. However you may still use the other Roko clubs at Gillingham, Nottingham and York as part of your home club membership, in line with your membership terms and conditions and rules.

Barrier Update

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by not having the car park barrier in operation. Our contractors have completed part of the work needed to get this back working fully, however we are still awaiting the delivery of a part to complete the process.

We expect to have this up and running within the next two weeks. We appreciate the impact this has on the car park, particularly during the evenings and weekends, and would like to thank you for your patience while we get this fixed.

Spa Pool Update

Thank you for your patience with the delayed opening of our spa pool. We have worked hard to get this back up and running, however we have encountered another unforeseen issue, which will take a little longer to fix. We hope to be able to keep it running until we can carry out these works, however if we do have to keep it closed, please accept our apologies in advance. Please be assured we are doing everything we can to get this back to normal service once again.
