Manager's Message

The British Summer is certainly here in style! There are many great reasons to get and stay in shape, being quick enough to dodge the latest torrential downfall is just one of the more practical!

For many of us, summer brings a renewed focus on our fitness goals. If it’s a new programme you need or an existing routine that needs a few tweaks then do contact the team at the club and they will be more than happy to help.

We are working behind the scenes to bring improvements to the club across all areas. I welcome all feedback and am readily available to chat to you and get your thoughts at any time. Liz details below some of the projects that we have started or plan to start. We hope they make a difference.

For many the summer sees children return from university. We have had quite a few queries this month about adding these young adults to existing memberships. Young adults are 16-21 year olds and we have flexible, competitive rates available and they can be added to your membership temporarily, so contact the membership sales team through the front desk for more information.

I look forward to seeing you all in the club throughout July!

Fitness News

Following the re-cabling across the fitness suite, the audio-visual signal has been improved in and across all cardiovascular equipment.  As the next stage, we have placed a call out with our service engineers to restore all equipment programming and resolve any equipment faults.  To bring back all the channels we are also replacing two of the free-view boxes.  We appreciate this is not a quick resolve to a long standing issue, however we are working through each part of the process carefully to ensure the outcome is positive.

A member grievance is how hot the gym and studios are, making it difficult to train.  This will be improved as we are getting our chiller unit serviced during the week of 11th July.  A positive step as this unit is key for the functioning of the air conditioning within the club.

During the summer we will be running a slightly reduced timetable for our fitness classes.  We will base this around instructor holidays as well as reduced opening hours over the bank holidays and low attended classes.  Our new timetable will then be launched mid-September where we will try to include some of your feedback to uplift your weekly group exercise programme.
